This agreement specifies our ethical
responsibilities and legal obligations to you to protect your privacy and personal
data when you share some personal data with us.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY
This Personal Data Protection Policy explains how we at eCPD Academy collect and use your personal data to provide you our eCPD Platform services. This policy is included and incorporated in our Terms of Online Learning Service.
1.1 The provisions of our Personal Data Protection Policy comply with European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).
1.2 If you country of residence where you predominantly access and use our eCPD Platform services has more stringent data protection requirements than that of GDPR, your local law requirements prevail. In this case, please bring to the attention of our Personal Data Protection Officer at pdpo@ecpd-academy.com the particular national law and its exact provisions that conflict with corresponding GDPR provisions and we shall make the necessary measures to comply with your local law.
2.1 Under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), personal data refers to any information that can directly or indirectly identify an individual person. We collect mandatory personal data (i.e. username, password, email address) and optional personal data (i.e. real full name). We also collect cookies and IP addresses.
2.2 The law defines personal data as "any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person".
3.1 When you visit our landing page at https://ecpd-academy.com as a non-user of
eCPD Academy, we immediately present you our Cookies Policy as we use
Google Analytics to track how you use our eCPD Platform services and ShareThis
services to enable you to quickly share what you find as useful content in our
eCPD Platform. 3.2 When you decide to join eCPD Academy by going
to the page “I want to join eCPD Academy”, we present to you our Terms of Online Service Agreement,
which includes and incorporates this Personal Data Protection Policy
as well as our Intellectual Property Policy
and Cookies Policy. You must agree to all user agreements if you
wish to access and use our eCPD Platform services. 3.3 After you agree with all four user agreements
above, you will be presented the sign-up page to become a member of eCPD
Academy. This “I want to join eCPD Academy”
sign-up page clearly specifies which personal data you need to share with us
for what purposes and for how long. To
reduce the risk of you failing to read in full this long-form privacy
protection agreement, we provide summary notices on this sign-up page as follows: We use your Username and Password to
authenticate you to log in to the eCPD Academy ecourse platform. We use your Email Address to send your self-activation link for your
eCPD Academy user account and activity notifications for which you may
subscribe later after you log in. We use your First Name and Last
Name so our
eCPD learning community can address you by name. It does not have to be your
real name. However, if you would like an eCPD evidence of your learning
achievements, you may prefer to use your real name. By sharing your personal
information entered as your Username, Password, Email, First Name and Last Name, you
give your explicit consent for us to use them to enable eCPD Academy to provide
you online learning services. We use your identifying
personal information entered above only for the above-stated purposes and not
for any other purpose without receiving your consent or unless required by law. We will not share your
information with anyone outside of eCPD Academy. Neither will we sell it to
anyone. We recognise our legal obligation to protect your personal information. 3.4 We will only hold your
personal data while you are an active learner on our eCPD Platform. After 12 months of
inactivity, we will remove your personal data in our system but only after
giving you reasonable notice to give you an opportunity to re-activate your
learning activity or take your personal data with you.
5.1 You have the rights of access, rectification, to be forgotten, to restriction of processing, of data portability, to object and to judicial review. The details of the nature and exercisability of these rights are as provided in the EU GDPR.
